Why A Disney Ultimate Ticket Represents Good Value

Why A Disney Ultimate Ticket Represents Good Value

The Disney Ultimate Ticket: Amazing Value for an Amazing Holiday

If you want to get the full experience of Walt Disney World on your Florida holiday, then the Disney Ultimate Ticket is absolutely the way to go for British holiday-makers. And, whether staying in a Disney resort hotel or a villa, hotel or apartment elsewhere in the Orlando area, the Ultimate Ticket represents exceptional value for money.

Experience Every Attraction at Walt Disney World for Less Than £30 per Day

Tell people that you’re heading to Walt Disney World and it’s likely that some people will give you that sucking air through teeth sound as they shake their head and inform you that it’s ridiculously over-priced.

“Oh, I’m sure it’s good,” they might say “But isn’t it just one big cash cow? It’s not exactly value for money, is it?”

Well, yes actually, I believe that is.

Now, I’m not going to tell you a visit to Disney is cheap. That would be silly. It’s not cheap and, to be perfectly honest with you, I’m not sure that Disney would ever claim to be going for cheap.

But not being cheap and not being value for money are completely different things – and Disney offers UK holiday-makers the chance to experience the entirety of its resort in a fashion that really is excellent value for money. Especially when you start to compare it with other big family holidays.

Disney's 14 Day Ultimate Ticket
Disney's 14 Day Ultimate Ticket

The Disney Ultimate Ticket

Ultimate by name, ultimate by nature.

Available as a 7, 14 or 21 day ticket, Disney’s Ultimate Ticket offers visitors the chance to visit each of the 6 main theme parks at the resort as often as they want to for the duration of their stay. So, if you buy the 14 Day Ultimate Ticket (which is generally the most popular) then you have complete access to each of the parks for 14 consecutive days starting from the first day you enter.

What this means in reality

The six main parks at Walt Disney World Resort are:

Magic Kingdom

Epcot

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park

Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park

From day one of your holiday you have complete access to all of these parks with your Ultimate Ticket.

This means you can come and go from each park as often as you wish. If you want to spend some time at Magic Kingdom before hopping over to Epcot then you can. If you want to go home, back to your hotel, villa or apartment, and then return to see the fireworks later at night, then you can do that also.

Every day – for 14 consecutive days.

epcot at walt disney world resort
epcot at walt disney world resort

And this represents good value, yes?

Well, the one thing to remember is that, once you’ve got your ticket then all the main attractions, rides etc are included within the price. You don’t buy a park ticket and then have to pay extra to go on Space Mountain, for instance.

Think of it this way:

Last summer my family and I spent a day in Brighton. It was a fantastic day out; we had a nice lunch at one of the excellent family friendly restaurants in the town and had a great, old fashioned style laugh on the shows at the end of the pier.

Now, the rides on the pier have a distinctly quaint old-school fun fair charm to them. A rickety old roller-coaster that offer precarious views of the sea below, dodgems and log flume that gets you suitably soaked. Good fun stuff.

And for each ride, you have to pay.

In less than an hour I had paid almost £30 in order for the four of us to enjoy a few of the bigger rides on the pier – 4 rides to be precise.

I didn’t begrudge a penny of it because it was fun.

But compare that to Disney for a moment.

OK, so an adult 14 Day Ultimate Ticket costs £369 (the same as the 7 Day Ticket on the current special offer) via the Disney website :

That’s about £26 per day, for which you have unlimited access to 6 of the World’s most popular theme parks, offering:

almost 50 different rides

parades & fireworks illuminations

shows

and a variety of other attractions.

Disney's Fastpass+

And there’s More

What a lot of people don’t realise, however, is that the Disney Ultimate Ticket is NOT JUST a passport into the theme parks.

It’s the heartbeat of all you do at Walt Disney World and when you use them properly, the value you receive and the fun you have just gets better and better.

Fastpass+

You may have heard about Disney’s Fastpass+ system.

This is the system which enables guests to get ahead of the queues on the best rides in the park. And it’s a great system – if you know how to really use it.

Which is where your Disney Ultimate Ticket can come to the fore.

One of the key things to note about the Fastpass+ system is that you are only able to reserve 3 rides at a time in any one park.

Eg. You can reserve to ride 3 of the best rides at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. However, you can’t reserve any more Fastpass+ rides until you have used these first 3.

Many see this as a restriction on the system – with the peak times to experience the best rides all booked up by the time you get to the park.

However, a little bit of forward planning and the versatility of the Disney Ultimate Ticket will make the Fastpass+ system work an absolute charm, allowing you to experience all that you wish with the minimum of stress and fuss.

Even More Value from your Ultimate Ticket

You see, what many people don’t realise, is that the value doesn’t just begin and end with your entry to the theme parks. It also offers up additional entertainment features. Such as:

FREE access to: Disney‘s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course & Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (one round per day per person for the duration of your stay)

PlayStation® Pavilion Access

Golf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course

Access to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (pre-booking required)

PLUS

When you purchase an Ultimate ticket for Walt Disney World, you’ll also receive a FREE Disney Memory Maker. This enables you to capture all those amazing moments at each Disney World park. The Memory Maker digitally stores all photos taken in the parks from the official Disney PhotoPass photographer pictures ( which includes all those ride photos of you screaming, laughing, waving etc), so everyone in the party is included and you have some amazing memories stored forever. The ‘at-the-gate’ purchase price of the memory maker is $169 (so yet more value).

10 Reasons to Visit Disney World Orlando In 2017

10 Reasons to Visit Disney World Orlando In 2017

10 Reasons to visit Walt Disney World Resort on your 2017 Holiday

Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando remains one of the world’s premier destinations for a magical family holiday; offering experiences and fun times that will live long in the memory. And from new attractions, old favourites, amazing hotels and places to eat and drink, plus some fantastic holiday offers available for the new year, here are 10 reasons why you should be considering Walt Disney World for your 2017 holiday.

New to Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Pandora – The World of Avatar

Announced back in 2011, this year sees to the grand opening of the latest themed zone at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Based on the ground-breaking James Cameron blockbuster Avatar, this promises to be a new immersive world into wich guests can explore the bioluminescent world of the Na’Vi. With the Flight of Passage ride offering a chance to fly through the strange planet in a Soarin’ style projection ride. Pandora is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2017.

Speaking of Soarin’…

The Soarin’ ride has been one of the centrepiece attractions at Epcot for years, and one of the most popular rides across the whole of Walt Disney World. And if you’ve ever experienced the ride, you’ll know why. A spectacular projection ride – suitable for the whole family – taking you on an exhilherating journey across the USA. Well, now the iconic ride has gone global. 2016 saw the ride get a major overhaul, with the new and improved ride taking in some of the great landmarks of the world on a stunning immersive journey that will no doubt be a major attraction for visitors in 2017.

Annual Events throughout the year

As well as the year round attractions and rides on offer across the 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, golf, hotels, shopping and dining areas, Walt Disney World Resort is also host to some amazing annual events throughout the calendar. These include: a range of Disney after-hours events, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party, Christmas attractions, Star Wars half-marathon, summer concerts, and other surprises across the year. And in the early part of 2017, there’s a brand new Epcot event in the International Festival of the Arts.

New Dining & Entertainment at Disney Springs

Disney Springs – born out of the old Disney Marketplace area – was fully launched in 2016 and quickly established itself as a prime spot for eating, drinking, shopping and being generally merry. A great place to dine and have some fun after the parks have closed with a huge range of shops, restaurants and cafes. And the expansion continues into 2017 with more restaurants set to open. Highlights include: The Polite Pig, Wine Bar George (both scheduled for early 2017), alongside popular existing favourites such as Bongo’s Cuban Cafe, the Boathouse and House of Blues Restaurant & Bar. Add in cinemas, music venues, family entertainment and a wide range of shops and Disney Springs will be a fully-fledged addition to the Disney holiday experience in the coming years. Also coming to Disney Springs in 2017 will be the re-vamped Planet Hollywood Observatory. Replacing the old restaurant with a new, ultra-modern dining experience packed with attractions and memorabilia from the movies plus a state of the art observatory to enjoy stars of a more celestial variety.

The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History

The Muppets continued popularity will be brought to the fore at Magic Kingdom in 2017, which is great for fans of Jim Henson’s furry creations (and who isn’t?) as the’ve always been underserved slightly at Disney in the past. Their take on great American moments is going to be new for 2017 with multiple performances held throughout the day at the Liberty Square are of Magic Kingdom (which, in our humble opinion, also happens to be a charming part of the park for a chill out and some food).

20 Hotel Resorts to meet all tastes and budgets

Walt Disney World has 20 different hotels and other forms of accommodation (from camping to luxury villa) to make for a dream holiday exactly as you would want it. Resorts are banded into 3 categories: Value, Moderate and Deluxe (along the lines of 3, 4 and 5 star), and come in a range of different styles and themes. From family favourites that are chock full of classic Disney characters, to the replendent Animal Kingdom Lodge or the elegant charm of Old Key West, the resorts have something to match whatever your personal tastes, desires and budget. And, as guests staying at each resort you are privy to some exceptional added bonuses, such as: free transfers to and from the airport, free parking across the parks, extra hours in the parks

New Rides at Typhoon Lagoon

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park opens up a new raft ride for all the family – the longest of its kind at the Disney water parks – to add to to the rapids, flumes, speed slides and giant wave pool that already makes the park such a popular spot for a day of water based fun.

Fastpass+

Fastpass+  remains one of the great tools to make your park visits mroe pleasurable. And, by staying on site at a Disney Resort Hotel or Villa, you can book times on your favourite rides up to 90 days before you arrive, ensuring that you can enjoy all the attractions you want without over-long times in the queues. What’s New at Disney in 2016

What’s New at Disney in 2016

With the New Year upon us we thought it might be a good time to take a peek at a few of the new attractions that will open to visitors at Walt Disney World during 2016.

1. New Star Wars Experiences

Whilst the promise of a full blown Star Wars land within Disney is still a few years away, there’s a range of exciting new stuff from a galaxy far, far away, coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year. In line with the release last December of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (you may have heard something about this?) Disney’s Hollywood Studios are launching, from the start of 2016, further expansions to their Star Wars offerings.

This includes:

  • A new adventure on the Star Tours – The Adventure Continues, based upon the recent new film. The Star Tours ride has a number of different adventure experiences, only a Jedi mind trick will allow you to know which adventure you take.
  • Jedi Training – Trials of the Temple – one of the more popular attractions for kids at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Jedi Training school is getting a re-vamp this year with eager younglings will head to Jedi Temple for their training before a showdown with uber-villans Darth Vader and the Seventh Sister (from the Star Wars: Rebels animated TV series).

2. Let It Go at the New Frozen Attraction at Epcot

Fans of the mega-hit movie Frozen will be able to head over to Norway at Epcot’s World Showcase to see this new attraction inspired from the film. Queen Elsa (who else?) has created a special new day for the Winter in Summer Celebration with guests also able to pay a visit to Elsa’s Ice Palace.

3. Soarin’ Around the World – Epcot

Anyone who’s been to Walt Disney World in the past decade will tell you that one of the great family friendly rides across the entire resort has been the spectacular Soarin’ at Epcot. A ride that takes you flying high over the most iconic landmarks in America in an incredible blend of immersive film and swooping motion. Well, opening in the summer of 2016, Soarin’ is going global with the Soarin’ Around the World ride allowing guests to fly above some of the world’s most breathtaking natural and man-made landmarks. This will be a ride that will need careful planning with the Fastpass+ so book early.

4. The Invictus Games 2016

You may have seen some of the last Invictus Games on TV courtesy of Prince Harry’s heavy involvement. A sporting celebration for wounded servicemen and women – the Invictus Games comes to the USA for the first time in 2016 where it’ll be hosted at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World Resort.

5. New Places to Eat, Drink & Be Merry

Always looking to improve the dining options available each year, Disney will be offering more choice than ever in 2016 with a range of new restaurants, cafes and other establishments opening across the resort. These will include:

  • Tiffins at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
  • STK steakhouse – Disney Springs
  • The Edison – Disney Springs
  • Sprinkles – Disney Springs
  • Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza – Disney Springs
  • New Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom Park – this is a cool sounding addition to the traditional Magic Kingdom eating options, offering ‘World Class Jungle Cuisine’ and themed areas within the restaurant itself.

fozzy at Downtown Disney

6. Completion of Disney Springs

If you’ve visited Walt Disney World in the past then chances are you made some time to head over to Downtown Disney for a look around the shops and possibly something to eat. Or even to enjoy some evening entertainment. Well, as of last year, Downtown morphed into the all new Disney Springs.

Almost double the size of Downtown, Disney Springs is an exciting new area for the resort. Set around a theme of old Floridian waterfront destinations, this is the new home of non-theme park entertainment at Walt Disney World Resort. From a plethora of shops and the Disney Marketplace to a range of entertainment venues and dining outlets from fast food to fine cuisine, Disney Springs promises to be a must visit venue for some change of pace enjoyment on your holiday.
